B Live is doing it again!
Hacienda, Jeff the Brotherhood & Palacios Brothers to rock Old No. 2
Summer officially ends on Thursday, but fun doesn't stop. B Live promotions is at it again, bringing Hacienda, Jeff the Brotherhood and Palacios Brothers to Old No. 2. For those of you who aren't familiar with Hacienda, the 4-piece retro outfit features hometown boy Dante Schwebel on guitar, and brothers Rene, Jaime and Abraham Villanueva. Hacienda's sound is reminiscent of 60's pop mixed with some Beach Boys surf harmonies. Their latest release Big Red and Barbacoa, was produced by Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys.
Nashville's Jeff the Brotherhood features brothers Jake and Jamin Orrall (vocals/guitars and drums respectively). I happened to pick up their album "Heavy Days" at Waterloo Records during one of my Austin trips, and listened to it on my drive back to Laredo. I was instantly hypnotized by the raw-yet-tight garage sound coming out of this two-piece. If you like no-nonsense garage-punk rock, Jeff the Brotherhood is right up your alley. I've read alot of good things about their live shows... I can't wait to experience it.
I've got to be honest, I have not seen Palacios Brothers. They've played a few times in Laredo, and I have not been able to catch one of their shows. The Hebbronville band has generated quite a buzz around town, though. I can't even begin to tell you how many people have praised this band, and recommended that I check them out. On Thursday I finally will.
Tickets are still available for the show, and you can purchase them at Old No.2 or for you web-savvy folk, you can purchase them online at http://blivepromotions.ticketleap.com/hacienda/.
